1 C raisins
2 C water
1 C sugar
1/2 C shortening

2 C flour
1 tsp soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp nutmeg
1 egg
1 C pecans, chopped

Glaze: melted butter, powdered sugar, and a little vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Boil the raisins in the water until there is only 1 cup of water left. Add the sugar and shortening and let cool.

Add the remaining ingredients (except for the glaze), pour onto cookie sheet lined with waxed paper. Bake at 350º for 20 minutes.

While still warm, mix glaze and pour over cookies.

Cut into serving sized squares.
