1-3/4 C. All-purpose flour ½ C regular oats, toasted
3/4 C whole wheat flour 3 Tbs toasted wheat germ
3 Tbs sugar 2 ½ tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt 1-1/3 C milk
2 eggs (1/4 cup), beaten 2 Tbs oil
1 Tbs toasted wheat germ

1. Spray bottom and sides of 8 ½ inch round baking pan with nonstick coating.
2. In large bowl stir together the flours, oats, the 3 Tbs wheat germ, sugar, baking powder & salt. In another bowl combine milk, egg & oil. Add milk mixture all at once to dry mixture; stir until just moistened (batter should be lumpy). Spread batter in prepared pan. Sprinkle with the 1 Tbs wheat germ.
3. Bake at 375º for 35 to 40 minutes or until just golden brown & toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool bread in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes; remove from pan; serve warm. Makes 16 servings.
Note: To toast oats, place in shallow baking pan; bake at 350 for 5 to 8 minutes or until oats are lightly browned, shaking pan once during baking.
