1 cup sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup canned pumpkin
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 cup chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Beat sugar and butter on medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Add pumpkin, egg, and vanilla, beating until blended; set aside.

Combine flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a small bowl; gradually add to shortening mixture, beating well. Fold in chocolate chips.

Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden and browned on bottom. Remove to wire racks to cool. Makes 2 dozen.

We were a little unsure of the combination of pumpkin and chocolate when we first heard the name of the recipe. Then we tasted them and Chelsea and I love these cookies.
