1 1/2 c flour
1 c sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp nutmeg
3/4 tsp cinnamon
3/4 c shortening
1 egg, well beaten
1 c mashed ripe banana ( 2-3 bananas)
1 3/4 c quick oats, uncooked
1/2 c chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, sugar, soda, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon. Cut in shortening.Add egg, bananas, rolled oats and nuts. Beat until thoroughly blended. Drop by teaspoonfuls about 1 1/2 inch inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400º for 15 minutes or until edges are browned. Remove from cookie sheet immediately and cool on rack. Makes 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
