1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. flour
3/4 c. nuts
1/2 c. coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º

Mix ingredients in order. Chill for at least 20 minutes. Divide batter into 3 sections. Spread flour on work space and roll each section into long roll. Then place on cookie sheet which has been sprayed with PAM. Pat down.

Bake for 30 minutes, the remove from oven and slice diagonally into approximately 20 pieces per section. Turn each piece on its side. Return the cookie sheet to the oven and bake another 10 minutes, or until brown.

You can replace the nuts with chocolate bits or dried cherries. Grandpa prefers the mandel bread with nuts and no chocolate.
