1 pound Swedish brown beans
1 quart water
1 tablespoon salt (I use sea salt or kosher salt)
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup vinegar
salt

Directions:
Directions:
Soak beans overnight in water. Bring to a boil in same water and simmer 8-10 minutes. Drain. Again, cover beans with water and bring to a boil. Continue simmering until tender, about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. (Water should be absorbed.) Add sugar, butter, vinegar and salt to taste.
