1 package (10 oz.) any European-style salad mix, washed
1 thinly sliced tart apple
1 package (4 oz.) Blue Cheese, crumbled
1 cup walnut halves
1/4 cup Vegetable Oil
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Combine salad, apples, walnuts, and Blue Cheese.
Whisk together oil and vinegar; pour over salad.
Add salt and pepper to taste then toss well. Serve immediately

Not everyone enjoys the flavour of balsamic vinegar but it is in a lot of modern day recipes. Other vinegars used for a substitution can be made using red wine vinegar, a raspberry-flavored vinegar or the following: Equal parts first two ingredients:
Molasses
Lemon juice
