6 apples
1 cup boiling water
1/8 t. salt
1 t. lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Wash, peel and core apples. Cut into thick slices. Combine apples, boiling water and salt. Cover tightly and cook over moderately low heat until apples cook through. (Approximately 30 minutes). Add a little more water if necessary to keep them from sticking to pan. Stir in lemon juice. Add sugar to taste. Stir until dissolved. Put in freezer containers. Cool and freeze. Allow breathing space at top of container. Services 6.
