1 roll aluminum foil
1 shovel
1 pair heavy gloves
1 24 inch wood 2x2 post
1 bag charcoal (15-20pound bag)
1 turkey any size
1 new metal trash can

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare your turkey. Remove from package, take out giblets. Rub down with vegetable oil, add seasoning.
Then go outside!! bury your post about 6 inches deep in the ground. Then cover it with foil and cover the ground about 2-3 feet around your post. Then get another patch of foil and start some coal burning.
After your fire has started place your turkey on the post; legs down. Tie legs and wing with a wire line. Place your trash can down over the turkey, be sure to center the can over the turkey. Shovel burning coals around the outside of the trash can, pile it up around the entire base and 1-2 inches over the lip. Then cover the bottom (top) of the can with hot coals. Leave the can to cook. Then when it is time with heavy gloves grab and lift your can. The can will be very hot. Carefully remove the turkey from the post.

10 pounds - 50 minutes 12 pounds - 1 hour
14 pounds - 85 minutes 16 pounds - 1 hour 40 minutes
18 pounds - 2 hours 5 minutes 20 pounds - 2 hours 15 minutes
22 pounds - 2 hours 25 minutes

Your Daddy did a fried turkey and a trash can turkey. The trash can turkey had a much better flavor.
