1 cup butter or margarine
¾ cup brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs, or 1 egg and ¼ cup sweetened condensed milk
2 ¼ cups unbleached flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup milk chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Cream butter, sugars, egg and vanilla until fluffy. Mix in flour, salt and baking soda. Add chocolate chips. Drop by tablespoons onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
