12 oz. bittersweet chocolate, chopped
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
pinch of salt
4 eggs
2 1/2 cups superfine sugar
2 tsp. vanilla extract
8 ox. semisweet chocolate, chopped course

Preheat the oven to 350 F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment.

Melt the bittersweet chocolate and butter. Allow to cool slightly. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together. In another bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract until thick and pale. Stir the melted chocolate into the eggs and sugar, followed by the flour. Add semisweet chocolate chunks.

Drop tablespoons of mixture onto baking sheets and bake for 8 - 10 minutes. Slide the parchment onto wire racks.

When completely cool, store in an airtight container.
