12 slices white bread, crust removed
6 slices mild cheddar cheese
6 slices ham
4 eggs
2 c. milk
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. paprika
Butter or margarine
½ c. shredded cheddar cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Coat an oblong glass baking pan with cooking spray. Spread one side of each bread slice with butter. Place 6 slices of buttered bread, butter side down, in the dish. Place a slice each of ham and cheese on top of each bread slice. Cover with a second bread slice, buttered side up. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of slices.
Beat eggs, milk, salt, and paprika. Pour this mixture on top of bread slices and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350º F for 45-50 minutes.

Serves 6-8. This dish was served in the Governor's Executive Mansion in Madison, Wisconsin in the 1970's during Warren Knowles' term.
