Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups Flour
2 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. ground Cinnamon
1 tsp. ground Ginger
1/2 tsp. ground Cloves
3/4 cup butter or margarine (I use butter)
1 cup packed Brown Sugar
1/4 cup Molasses
1 large Egg
3/4 cup granulated Sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix (I sift) flour, soda, cinnamon, cloves and ginger. Beat butter and brown sugar until light in color. Beat in molasses and egg (it will look curdled). Gradually beat in flour until blended. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour, until firm enough to handle. Shape tablespoonful of dough into 1 1/4" balls (I make balls smaller - maybe 3/4" to 1" size). Roll in granulated sugar to coat. Place 1 1/2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 350º oven for 10-12 minutes until tops crack, but cookies are soft to touch. May store airtight at room temperature up to 3 weeks. Makes 4-5 dozen.
