Ingredients:
Ingredients:
One 20 oz. can of crushed pineapple (in syrup)
One 20 oz. can of cherry pie filling
One box Yellow Cake Mix
1.5 – 2 sticks of butter or margarine

Directions:
Directions:
Use a 9x13" baking pan. Dump in the pineapple and juice/syrup, spreading evenly. Pour cherry pie filling over the pineapple, spreading evenly. Pour the Yellow cake mix around as evenly as possible on top of that, then use a spoon to make it smooth and even on top. Then slice butter or margarine in thin slices and lay all over the top of the cake mix, leaving as little of a gap between slices as possible. DO NOT MIX ANYTHING TOGETHER.

Bake in 350 degree oven for around 35 – 45 minutes (it was done in 35 minutes for me), until the top is looking lightly browned all over and you can see the cherry and pineapple bubbling up around the sides. Then remove from oven, do not cover it with anything, and let it cool off outside of the fridge for around an hour. Then put it in the fridge, also uncovered, for an hour or more if possible (I left it in the fridge uncovered overnight, then covered it in the morning) .

PLEASE NOTE: Keeping it uncovered while it cools in and out of the fridge initially is important to give the cake the slightly crunchy texture, if you cover it while it cools, sometimes the cake gets a little soggy or soft. But after it has cooled a while in the fridge you can then cover it.

This came from a coworker who brought it to a lunchtime potluck. Very, very easy to prepare.
