Tomato Dumplings Recipe

4 cups canned tomatoes (I prefer plum tomatoes), chopped
1 lb. Spicy Breakfast Sausage (whatever brand you prefer)
2 cups all-purpose flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup water or milk
salt and pepper to taste (not much if using spicy sausage)

Directions:
Directions:
Form sausage into small cakes, fry in deep kettle until browned. Add tomatoes and season to taste. Heat to boiling.
In medium mixing bowl, sift flour, re-measure and sift with baking powder and salt. Add milk or water until mixture becomes sticky.
Drop by spoonfuls into boiling mixture.
Cover tightly and boil for 10 minutes.

Got this recipe from Kelly Harris' mom when I was in 8th grade. If you're in a rush you can substitute canned biscuits for the dumplings.
