3 lbs. hamburger
1 medium onion, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
2-14.5 oz. cans stewed or diced tomatoes
2-5.5 oz. cans tomato juice
1-12 oz. pkg. noodles
Crushed saltine crackers
Slices of American cheese

Directions:
Directions:
The first 6 ingredients require 3 separate preparations with the goal of having them all done at the same time.

In skillet, crumble hamburger; add onion and seasonings. Cook until hamburger is browned and onions are soft. Drain off grease.

In small saucepan, heat tomatoes & tomato juice until hot.

In large pan, cook noodles according to directions on package. Drain off water.

Layer the following in a lightly greased 13x9x2 in. baking dish: Noodles on the bottom, then layer of hamburger mixture, then layer of tomato mixture. Cover all with crushed saltine crackers. Add slices of cheese to cover the top. Place in 350º oven until cheese is melted.
