Dumpling Mixture:
3 cups blackberries
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons tapica

Dumplings:
2 cups flour
2 tablespoons lard
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg yolk

Directions:
Directions:
Dumpling mixture:
Cook blackberries, sugar and tapica until a thick consistency. Use now or cool and put into containers and you may freeze it.

Dumplings:
Mix flour, lard, milk, salt and egg yolk - add more flour if needed. Roll out the dough and cut into 3 or 4 inch squares. Put 1 heaping teaspoon of blackberries on dough. Bring one corner of the dough to the opposite one and press the edges together with your fingers. Drop in boiling water and boil a few minutes. Drain, put melted butter over the top of them. Serve with cream or half & half.
