Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 2/4 C. Flour
2 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
3/4 tsp. Salt
1/3 C. Shortening
3/4 C. Milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450º.
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Cut shortening into flour mixture using a pastry blender or 2 knives, until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
Stir in just enough milk so dough pulls away from the sides of bowl and dough forms into a ball. Too much milk makes the dough sticky, too little makes the biscuits dry.
Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead dough lightly with your hands ten times. Roll out with a floured rolling pin to 1/2-inch thickness.
Cut dough with a floured 2-inch biscuit cutter.
Place on an ungreased cookie sheet, about 1-inch apart for crusty sides or touching for soft sides.
Bake until golden brown, about 10-12 minutes. Immediately from cookie sheets.

Personal Notes:
Top with Beef Stew, Sausage Gravy or Chicken a la King.
