4 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. raisins
1/4 lb. melted butter
1 3/4 c. - 2 c. buttermilk
9 inch pie pan

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375ºF. Melt butter in 9 inch pie pan. Sift the flour/baking powder/baking soda into a large bowl; mix in the salt and sugar. Use a spatula to mix in butter, then buttermilk, until a coarse batter is achieved. Turn out dough onto a floured board and knead 10 times to make a rounded loaf. Place loaf into the buttered/floured pie pan, score the top of the loaf into quarters and brush the top with buttermilk. Bake for 1 hour, check center with a toothpick. Allow to cool to room temperature, slice and serve with butter.
