Ingredients: 3 to 4 C cooked elbow macaroni 2 T butter 2 T flour 1/2 t salt, pepper to taste 2 C milk 2 C shredded cheddar or American cheese or mixed 8 hot dogs of choice 8 buns Dijon mustard 1/2 C bread crumbs

Directions:Preheat oven to 400. Melt butter in medium saucepan. Stir in flour and cook 1-2 minutes.Add milk and cook till slightly thickened and bubbly. Add cheese...stir till melted...remove from heat. Add cooked macaroni...stir well and cover for a few minutes. Heat hot dogs for a minute or two in microwave. Spread buns with mustard...add hot dogs with generous dollop of mac and cheese on top. Sprinkle with crumbs and toast all in oven for about 10 minutes till golden brown on top. |

Notes: GRANDMOTHER ALERT!!!!
This will make you famous with your grandchildren, but then homemade mac and cheese will make you a heroine with anyone..boxed or frozen would work in a pinch... It is so good mine wanted to have it again the next day...no protest on my part...it's comfort food central!!
