1/2 gal. cucumbers, sliced
Dill sprigs
1/4 tsp. alum
3 c. water
1 c. vinegar
1/4 c. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Put dill in bottom of canning jars; add cucumbers. Top with another sprig of dill and a pinch of alum about size of a pea. May add small clove garlic if desired. Boil water, vinegar, and salt. Pour over pickles. Seal while hot by cold packing, 10 to 15 minutes.
