BROWNIE MIX FOR GIFT JARS:
7 cups all-purpose flour
4 cups sugar
2 ½ cups cocoa powder
1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon salt
2 cups solid shortening

WHEN READY TO COOK ADD:
3 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla flavoring

Mix dry ingredients together until well blended. Cut shortening in until the mixture looks like chocolate cornmeal.

Place 3 cups of Brownie mix per jar; makes 5 quart jars. Mixture will store up to six weeks in refrigerator. Can place ½ cup chopped pecans in plastic bag and add in space at top of quart jar. When ready to cook brownies, add 3 eggs beaten and 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla flavoring to the Brownie mix. Stir until blended. Pour batter into a greased and floured 8” square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
