3 cups sugar
3/4 cup Karo light corn syrup
3/4 cup water
1/4 tsp salt
2 egg whites
1 pkg fruit-flavored gelatin (red, probably strawberry)
1 1/4 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, syrup, water and salt in heavy saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Cook without stirring to 250º or until a small amount dropped onto very cold water forms a ball which holds its shape but is still plastic. Remove from heat.

Beat egg whites in large mixer bowl until soft peaks form when beater is raised; then, gradually add gelatin, beating until stiff peaks form. Slowly pour in syrup, beating constantly with high speed on electric mixer. Continue beating until soft peaks form when beater is raised and mixture begins to lose its gloss. Stir in nuts immediately. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper.
