1 (16.5-oz.) pkg. devil's food cake mix
3 eggs
1 (21-oz.) can cherry pie filling
1 tsp. almond extract
Frosting:
1 1/2 c. white sugar
6 T. milk
6 T. margarine
1 c. chocolate chips

Directions:
Mix cake mix, eggs, cherry pie filling and flavoring. Pour into sheet cake pan and bake at 350º for 20-30 minutes (toothpick comes out clean).
Frosting: Bring sugar, milk and margarine to a boil for one minute. Add the chocolate chips and stir until melted. Spread on hot cake.

It is correct that there is no other liquid besides the eggs and pie filling. You can also do this cake with white cake mix and apple filling. The cake is actually better if made a day before serving.
