1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Topping:
6 T. butter
1/4 c. milk
1 c. coarsely chopped pecans
1 c. shredded coconut
2/3 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla.

Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over oatmeal, stir and cool to lukewarm. Cream butter and sugars and beat in eggs. Add cooled oatmeal and sifted dry ingredients. Mix well and pour into a greased or sprayed 9x13-inch pan. Bake at 350 º, 40 minutes.
Topping: Heat all ingredients except vanilla in the microwave until butter is melted and mixture bubbles. Add 1 tsp. vanilla. Stir well and spread on warm cake. Broil until coconut is golden brown.
