1 cup butter; 1 cup brown sugar;1 cup regular sugar; 3 1/2 cup flour; 2 eggs; 1/2/ tsp. baking powder; 1/2 tsp salt; 1 tsp. vanilla.
Cherry or Walnut Halves
Usually 2 small jars of cherries cut in half make 1 recipe.

Beat butter, brown sugar, and sugar together. Add eggs and vanilla. Blend in flour, baking powder, and salt. Separate dough into 2 or 3 parts. Place on large sheets of wax paper and roll into logs about 1-1 1/2 dia. wrap in wax paper and refrig over night. Cut into thin slices, and place onto ungreased cookie sheets. Place cherry half or walnut half in center of cookie and bake 375 degree oven until sl brown around edges.
