1½ lbs ground pork (or ½ beef)
1 small onion minced
½ cup boiling water
1 garlic clove chopped
1½ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. mace
¼ tsp. black pepper
¼ tsp. sage
Pinch of ground cloves
3 medium potatoes, mashed

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425º. Brown the meat in a large skillet. Cook well and drain fat. Add onion, garlic and spices to the meat. Boil potatoes and mash or whip until smooth, no lumps. Add to meat mixture and stir well. Add boiling water and continue to stir. Put mixture in uncooked pie shell and place pastry on top. Pinch edges and poke holes in pastry. Bake at 425º for 10 minutes, then reduce to 350º and bake 30 – 40 minutes.
