Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
We remember Granny T as a loving (great) grandmotherly type with wispy white hair, flowery dresses and a playful smile. But her reputation along the Mississippi, as wife of Capt. William A. Thompson, was far more exciting. She piloted their houseboat expertly up and down the Big River, smoked cigars, drank her liquor out of a silver flask and played a winning hand of cards with deckhands and friends. A true character.
