Gelatin salad:
2 small packages lemon gelatin
1 can crushed pineapple, drained – save the juice
2 c. boiling water
1 1/2 c. miniature marshmallows
2 c. lemon-lime soda or ginger ale
2-3 sliced bananas

Topping:
Pineapple juice from above (add water to pineapple juice to make 1 cup juice)
1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 egg slightly beaten
1 tub whipped topping
Sharp Grated Cheddar Cheese

Directions:
Directions:
For the Salad:
Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Stir in soft drink, cool and let partially set. Add (drained) pineapple, marshmallows, and bananas. Chill until gelatin is completely set.

For Topping:
Pour juice into sauce pan and add sugar, cornstarch and egg. Cook until mixture thickens and boils, constantly stirring, then cool. When sauce is cool, fold in the whipped topping. Pour topping onto gelatin mixture. Sprinkle with grated cheddar cheese. Refrigerate until served.
