6 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. saffron
½ cup olive oil
½ cup corn oil
1 cup milk
1 tbsp. anise seeds
1 ½ cups water
sesame seeds (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Boil water and add anise seeds. Set aside.

Mix flour and sugar. Add baking powder and saffron. Add oil and mix. Add anise and water. Then, add the milk and mix until mixture forms a cake like substance.

Put in greased 13” pan. Add sesame sees to the top.
Bake in 350° oven for ½ hour

Let sit until cool. Remove the cake from the pan and cut into square pieces.

This was my favorite dessert when I was younger and the saffron gives a beautiful sunflower yellow color.
