1 package dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
5 cups self-rising flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon soda
2 teaspoons baking power
1 cup shortening
2 cups buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
(This may be halved, except for yeast and water, to make smaller batch.) Dissolve yeast in warm water. Combine flour, soda and baking power. Mix well. Cut in shortening. Add yeast and buttermilk. Knead lightly. Rollout and cut biscuits. Place on greased pan, brush tops with melted butter. Bake at 400º 12 to 15 minutes. Makes about 35 biscuits.
