2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour, 2 tsp. baking powder, pinch salt, 1/2 tsp anise seed ground, 4 drops anise oil, 1/4 c. butter, 1 c. sugar, 3 eggs, 1 egg yolk.

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour 3 times with baking powder and salt and ground anise seed. Cream butter and add sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and beat. Stir in anise oil and dry ingredients and blend well. Spread into greased and lightly dusted floured pan that is 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from pan and cut into slices. Put slices on cookie sheet and bake at 450º until lightly browned.
