12 medium jalapeņo chiles (preferably with stems attached)
8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
4 slices (thin) Black Forest ham, chopped fine
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 teaspoon chili powder
2 scallions, chopped fine
1/2 teaspoon table salt

Adjust oven rack to middle position.
Heat oven 350 degrees.

Cut each jalapeņo lengthwise through stem
(you should end up with 2 complete halves)
Remove ribs & seeds.

Combine cream cheese, cheddar, ham, lime juice, chili powder, scallions, & salt in bowl.

Fill each jalapeņo half with cheese mixture.
Place jalapeņos on parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake until filling is hot, 20 minutes.
Cool slightly & serve warm.
