Ingredients: |
Ingredients: 1. 1 lb * pork or turkey sausage 2. 1 cups diced onion 3. 2 cups diced celery 4. chicken or turkey giblets 5. 6-8 cups dry white bread cubes 6. chopped water chestnuts (optional) 7. hot water, or ** low-sodium chicken broth, or turkey drippings 8. poultry seasoning to taste (optional) 9. salt & pepper to taste
* sausage option: in place of sausage, use butter or margarine to brown onions ** straight low-sodium chicken broth may still be too salty; may add a little water

Directions: |
Directions:Brown sausage and giblets, add onion and cook lightly. Add rest of diced vegetables and continue cooking. Turn off the fire, add the bread cubes and seasonings and combine. Add enough broth or water to moisten, as desired.
Bake in 350 degree oven for 20 – 30 minutes, until top is lightly browned. I like mine a little crunchy on top.
Night before preparation: wash the veggies and do all the dicing the night before to save time on cooking day. |
