3/4 c. shortening
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. oats, uncooked
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together shortening, sugars, egg, water, and vanilla until creamy. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for 12-15 minutes. Can add nuts, raisins, chocolate chips, or coconut.
