1 c milk, scalded
2 T shortening
2 T sugar
1 tsp salt
1/4 c lukewarm water
1 package yeast
1 well beaten egg
3 1/2 c flour

Directions:
Directions:
Combine milk, shortening, sugar and salt. Set aside to cool to lukewarm. Put yeast in water and let soften. Add eggs. Combine with above mixture. Stir in flour and mix. Let rise to double in bulk, approximately 2 hours. Kneed and roll into rectangle. Spread with softened butter. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Roll and cut. Let rise. Bake 375º to 400º approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Cool slightly. Ice with powdered sugar and water mixed thin.
