1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 eggs
1 cup honey
1/3 cup soft shortening
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup pitted dates, cut up
1 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Stir together flour, baking powder, and salt. Combine eggs, honey, shortening, and vanilla and beat well. Add flour mixture, beat in. Add dates and nuts. Preheat iron frypan. Grease well. Add batter; spread evenly. Cover, and bake at 280° F. 30 to 35 minutes. Uncover and cool frypan. Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar or frost with a thin lemon frosting.
