1 c. softened butter or margarine
1/2 c. powdered sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1 3/4 c. flour
1 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. granulated sugar

Directions:
Directions:
1. In large bowl, cream butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt with mixer until fluffy.
2. Stir in flour and walnuts little by little by hand.
3. Cover and chill for 30 min.
4. Break off small pieces of dough and roll with hands on floured surface into finger-thickness. Cut into 2-inch lengths, taper ends, and shape into crescents.
5. Place one inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 300º for 18-20 min.
6. While warm, roll in granulated sugar. Place on racks to cool.
