1/3 C Chopped Onion
5 T butter
2 C Ketchup
1/3 C Vinegar (cheap cider vinegar works best)
1/2 C Brown Sugar
4 tsp Mustard
2 T Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 tsp Salt
1/8 tsp Pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Slowly cook onion in butter until tender in a large pot. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer covered for about 15 minutes stirring occasionally to keep from sticking. Brown hamburgers on both sides cooking long enough to stay firm. Place the hamburgers in the sauce. The longer they simmer the better the flavor.

This sauce is also good with ribs. This is one of my favorite recipes of grandma's.
