1. black beans (1) 16 oz can
2. white kidney beans (1) 16 oz can
3. red kidney beans (1) 16 oz can
4. bacon 1 lb (thick sliced)
5. sausage 1 lb (no casing)
6. garlic
7. shallots
8. cumin
9. spicy mustard (yellow mustard is for a 6 year old’s hot dog)
10. brown sugar
11. chipotle peppers (2)
12. Worcestershire sauce
13. green peppers
14. red peppers
15. yellow peppers
16. molasses
17. onion
18. bay leaf
19. thyme

You can substitute the 3 different types of beans by simply using Bush’s Baked Beans. (They are a good start for any kind of BBQ bean recipe.)

I didn't’t include any quantities for the spices and herbs because everyone likes it different.

Start with the beans in a crock pot or slow cooker and add the meats and seasonings over the next 3 hours (minimum time).

Remember that it is easier to add hot spices to the individual serving then to make the whole pot hot and spicy. Some don’t like it hot.
