1/4 pound bacon, diced and browned
1/4 cup slivered almonds
one half medium onion, diced
1 medium head green cabbage
1/4 cup butter
1 garlic clove, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon any pepper blend
1/3 cup of grated Parmesan cheese

Brown diced bacon in skillet, drain and set aside. Brown slivered almonds and diced onion in bacon fat stirring occasionally to prevent burning. Drain off and mix with bacon pieces. Core and slice cabbage in 1/2 inch slices. Discard core. Layer cabbage in skillet with butter, garlic, seasoning, and pepper. Cook over medium-high heat until tender, stirring frequently. When tender, mix in bacon pieces, almonds, and onion. Garnish with Parmesan cheese
