Cake ingredients:
1 (12oz) can strawberry soda and enough water to make 2 cups
1 yellow cake mix
1 small pkg. strawberry Jello

Icing ingredients:
1 small instant vanilla pudding mix
1 medium tub of Cool Whip

Bake as directed in 9x13 pan. Cool and punch holes in cake. Bring drink and water to a boil and add Jello, mixing until dissolved. (Use a large sauce pan because when you pour Jello into boiling mixture, it foams up.) Pour over cool cake and chill.

Icing directions:
Beat together pudding mix and cool whip, and spread over cake. Let stand overnight for added flavor. Keep refrigerated. Note: The icing can be used with chocolate, butterscotch, etc. pudding mixes and used on different cakes.
