Crust ingredients:
1 c. flour
1/3 c. shortening
5 tbsp. water (room temperature)
sprinkle of salt

Filling ingredients:
5-6 medium apples (peeled, cored, and sliced)
1 handful flour (about 1/2 cup)
1 handful sugar (about 1/2 cup)
1/3 c. water
butter or margarine
cinnamon to taste

Crust directions:
Combine flour, shortening, water and salt. If dough seems too "sticky," add more flour 1 tbsp. at a time. If dough seems too dry, add 1 tsp. of water at a time. Sprinkle counter with flour and roll out dough to fit pie pan. Makes 1 crust.

Filling directions:
Combine flour and sugar and sprinkle bottom of pie crust evenly with mix. Place sliced apples evenly in pie crust and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Dab several spots with butter and add water. Bake at 450º for 15 minutes, then bake at 350º for 30 minutes.
