3/4 cup soft shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
2 cup flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. cloves
3/4 tsp. ginger

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, adding sugar slowly, until light and fluffy. Add egg and molasses, blend in well. Add dry ingredients into creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition.

Form into 1 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.

Bake at 375º for 10 - 12 minutes.
