Notes: DISCLAIMER!!!!! My sis made the mistake of not trying this before she sent it. "Did not turn out so well - even though I used the largest coffee mug I have (12 oz) it boiled out all over the outside of the cup! And the results were dry. I have a 1000 watt oven & set it on high for 3 minutes - before the first minute was up, the mix was out of the cup! (Those of you who are good with a microwave may know of a way to have better results.)
Anyway, I didn't want anyone to make a huge mess in their microwave. Let my know if you have different results - it still seems workable if you have the right settings..."
I'm thinking maybe if you have high wattage oven, lower the power to 70? And I'm thinking of using a large Pyrex measuring cup to make. This will allow plenty of room for expansion. She added a scoop of vanilla ice cream and ate the cake. Ice cream will cover a multitude of mistakes! 20 March at 16:04 · Like · 3 people
I tried this and it did really well. I was expecting it to run over so I watched carefully. By the time it reached the top of the cup it was cooked enough not to run over. It reached about 2 inches above the top of my xl coffee mug. Turn out great. I think the more chocolate chips the better. Sharon Baron-Lanier Finishing the cake.....the chips gave it lots of moisture and favor. Sharon Baron-Lanier
This sounds great for 1 or 2 people. Will try maybe tonight. If Idon't have cocoa I might try cappuccino powder. Shirley Blakenship I have made this more than several times. Just enough for me and my sweetheart. I added 1 T more of cocoa, used buttermilk, and added 1 T of butter. Then I don't use as many chips. It's great with vanilla icecream and whipped cream. I use a very large, tall coffee mug. Comes out great every time. Sharon Baron-Lanier

Auntie Enn OK. Now we need a rating system for the cookbook. 1 to 4 stars . . . 31 March at 09:39 · Like
Sharon Barron-Lanier 4 stars....I especially like it with the buttermilk instead of milk and less chips. 31 March at 09:57 · Like · 1 person
Glenda Cooper Roberts I just tried this recipe. I didn't have any chocolate chips, so it was more like chocolate pound cake. The texture is just like a cake mix and so good. I also made my husband one with Splenda, It is more like brownies and didn't rise as much. I used a 2 cup Pyrex measuring cup, and it rose about 1 inch over the top. It took exactly 3 minutes. This is a great recipe - Thanks Auntie Enn.
Just made it without cocoa and used 3 Tbsp. butter instead of oil, used 1/4 to 1/2 tsp vanilla and had to cook 4 min in my microwave. Much better texture. Shirley Blakenship
