1/4 cup sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
2 1/2 cups yellow cornmeal
2 eggs
1 cup milk (sweet)
1/4 cup lard or bacon grease

Directions:
Directions:
Sift above dry ingredients. Add eggs, milk, and bacon grease. Mix with electric mixer until smooth. (Do not overbeat.) Grease cornstick or muffin pan with shortening (top and sides.) Bake in oven at 425 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Fill pans 3/4 full because this corn meal will double in size.
