Pecan Pie Recipe

36 caramels
1/4 c. water
1/4 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. chopped pecans
1 9" pie crust (use Mom's recipe for that: Mildred Stunkel)

Directions:
Directions:
Melt caramels with butter and water in sauce pan on low heat. (Don't want to scorch the caramels.) Set aside to cool slightly. Beat eggs with sugar and vanilla. Stir in pecans. Pour in caramel mixture and mix well. Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake at 350ºF for 45 minutes covered lightly, but not sealed, with foil. Uncover and bake about 10 more minutes. Pie will be not completely set up until it cools.

I came across this recipe in the 70's when the CMA awards were sponsored by Kraft . Every commercial had a recipe made with Kraft products. Back then, the TV guide had all the recipes in the back of the guide so I bought it
for the Pecan Pie. It's a favorite of our family.
