Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted organic butter, softened
2 cups pure cane sugar
2 eggs, organic preferred beaten
1/4 to 1/2 cup Kentucky Bourbon
1 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
In medium bowl, cream sugar and butter until fluffy.
Place mixture in top of a double boiler. Bring water up to hard boil, and cook the mixture for at least 30 minutes. Stir constantly. The mixture needs to get very hot to break down the sugar so the texture is not grainy. Add a skimpy teaspoon of the hot mixture to the eggs, stirring to distribute the heat. Repeat. Once eggs are tempered, add into hot mixture. Cook another 3 minutes, stirring continually. Add bourbon and nutmeg. Let cool.

Personal Notes:
Woodford Reserve works well. You ca make this ahead of time as it reheats nicely. For warmed cupcakes or similar eats, make a puddle of the warmed sauce to set the cake in. Top with sauce as well. Make sure to temper the eggs. Otherwise, they will curdle and cook.
