1 cup shortening
2 1/2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 large can of pumpkin
5 cups flour
8 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Combine shortening, sugar, eggs, vanilla and 1 large
can pumpkin.
Combine the dry ingredients and add to the above. Mix well, then add the following after all the above ingredients are mixed together: 2 cups raisins or chocolate chips and 2 cups of nuts (if desired).
Drop dough by tsps onto a greased baking sheets. Bake at 375º for 15 minutes. Cool cookies on a cooling rack.
