1/2 c shortening
1 c sugar
2 eggs, beaten well
1 tbsp milk
2 1/2 c sifted flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 tsp nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and milk and beat well. Sift Dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture. Shape into mound, wrap in waxed paper and chill thoroughly. Roll on a board or table lightly dusted with confectioner's (10x) sugar, until dough is about 1/4 inch thick. Dip cookie cutter in confectioner's sugar each time before cutting cookie. Place cookies on lightly greased baking sheets. Bake in 375º oven for about 8 minutes, or until delicately browned.
